HELP SEND ”MAXI” TO MONTREAL

Watch the Special Screenings of “Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” at U.P.

Cinemalaya Jury Prize winner “Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” will have three special screenings at 2PM, 5PM, and 7PM on Saturday, August 20, at the U.P. Film Institute Cine Adarna (formerly U.P. Film Center), University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City.

The screenings are being held to raise funds for the participation of the film in the coming Montreal World Film Festival where it will compete against entries from 14 other countries.

“Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” screened to full houses at the CCP and U.P. as one of the nine full-length entries in the 1st Cinemalaya film festival and competition.

In its limited run so far it has garnered rapturous responses from audiences and critics alike.

Aside from winning the Cinemalaya Jury Prize, the film was awardeed for Best Production Design (by Christina Dy, Clint Catalan, and Lily Esquillon) and a special citation awarded to first-time actor Nathan Lopez for his breakthrough performance as Maximo Oliveros, a pre-teen boy who falls in love with a policeman.

“Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” is written and produced by Michiko Yamamoto (“Magnifico”) and Raymond Lee (“Milan”) of ufo Pictures and directed by award-winning filmmaker Auraeus Solito.

The U.P. screenings will be subtitled in English so foreign / non-Filipino speaking audiences are welcome.
